Sports nutrition plays a vital role in improving athletic performance, promoting recovery, and maintaining overall health. A well-balanced diet that provides adequate carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and fluids helps athletes meet the physical demands of training and competition. Proper nutrition before, during, and after exercise enhances energy availability, delays fatigue, supports muscle repair, and replenishes glycogen stores. Hydration is equally important, as it regulates body temperature, prevents dehydration, and optimizes physical and mental performance. In addition, evidence-based use of nutritional supplements may benefit some athletes when combined with a balanced diet and professional guidance. This paper highlights the importance of sports nutrition in maximizing performance, accelerating recovery, and reducing the risk of injury, emphasizing that individualized nutrition strategies are essential for achieving long-term athletic success.
